Privacy policy

Effective 11 September 2026 · Applies to the Auto Typer Chrome extension and this website.

The short version: the text you type with Auto Typer stays on your computer. The extension has no analytics, no tracking and no server of its own. The only thing it sends anywhere is a Pro licence key, to our payment provider, to check that it's valid.

Who we are

Auto Typer is made and sold by Auto Typer ("we", "us"). You can reach us at autotyper.help@gmail.com.

What the extension stores, and where

Everything below is kept in Chrome's local extension storage on your own device. None of it is sent to us.

WhatWhy
The text you paste into the panelSo it's still there when you reopen the panel.
Your settings (speed, typos, presets…)So you don't have to set them again.
How many characters you've typed todayTo apply the free plan's daily limit. It's a single number that resets each day.
Your Pro licence key, and the details returned when it's checked (status, the name on the order, the plan name)To keep Pro unlocked and show you which licence is active.
How many typing runs have finished, and your answer if you've been asked for a reviewTo ask for a Chrome Web Store review once, after you've used Auto Typer a few times, and to stop asking once you answer.

Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.

What the extension sends, and to whom

Only one kind of request ever leaves your device: a licence check with Lemon Squeezy (api.lemonsqueezy.com), our payment provider. It happens when you activate or deactivate a Pro licence, and occasionally in the background to confirm the licence is still valid (at most every few days, when you use the extension). Each request contains:

If you use the free plan and never enter a licence key, the extension sends nothing at all.

If you choose "Write a review" when asked, the extension opens Auto Typer's Chrome Web Store page in a new tab. That is an ordinary page visit, like clicking a link; the extension doesn't send anything along with it.

The pages you type into

To type, Auto Typer has to work inside the page you choose: it finds the text field you clicked and sends keystrokes to it. It does not read, collect, store or transmit the contents of the pages you visit.

On Google Docs, typing uses Chrome's debugging interface, which is the only way an extension can produce keystrokes that Docs accepts. Auto Typer attaches to that one tab only while it is typing, and detaches when it finishes. Chrome shows a notice bar while this is active.

Why the extension asks for its permissions

Buying Pro

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record: it takes your payment, handles sales tax and VAT, and issues your licence key. Lemon Squeezy collects the details needed for that — such as your name, email address, payment details and billing country — under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details. We do receive your order information (name, email, country, what you bought and when) so we can help you, issue refunds, and keep records we're legally required to keep.

Emailing us

If you write to us, we keep the conversation for as long as we need it to help you, and for record-keeping after that.

What we don't do

The use of information received by Auto Typer adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Your choices and rights

You can delete everything the extension stores by uninstalling it. To ask what order information we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted (except where we must keep it by law), email us. Depending on where you live — including the EU, UK and Switzerland — you may also have the right to object, to data portability, and to complain to your data protection authority. We process order information to fulfil our contract with you and to meet legal obligations.

Children

Auto Typer is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects what the extension sends or stores, we'll say so in the extension's release notes.
